Por si no era suficiente con el Guitar Hero, el Guitar Hero II y el tan esperado Guitar Hero III, ahora también sale a la luz el Guitar Hero Encore.
La nueva entrega de RedOctane estará centrada basicamente en la música de los 80 e incorporará 30 nuevos temas (de los cuales 11 faltan por ser confirmados y los otros 19 temas serán los siguientes)

Los músicos también sufrirán una transformación y se vestirán como los grandes músicos de 1980, mientras que los escenarios también estarán ambientados en los 80. Una de las buenas noticias es que la fecha de lanzamiento de este juego es este verano (antes que el Guitar Hero III), y que será compatible con todas las consolas next-gen. También es una buena noticia que saldrá una nueva guitarra para la saga, la Gibson Les Paul (aunque para desgracia de muchos, la PS2 se quedará con la de siempre)
